24 Countries represented
The annual European Cold Chain Logistics Education Program on
January 26 & 27, was again an enormous success. Not only did this 12th
edition match the 2008 turnout in bringing some 160 industry
representatives to Amsterdam ... never in the history of the event
were so many nationalities represented. Delegates literally came
from all over the world: representing 17 European countries as well
the United States, Canada, Japan, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, and
Israel.
This year´s theme was “Explore the future: Green, lean, and cost
effective cold storage and distribution operations” and offered
participants a large number of presentations on subjects ranging
from trends in frozen food consumption to ammonia safety and from
supply chain requirements for 3PLs to dos and don’t´s of WMS
selection.
Traditionally, the program featured a networking dinner on Monday
night, which offered excellent opportunities for establishing new
business contacts, and a trade show for suppliers to the industry.
As always, the program ended with
a
facility visit. This time, delegates were shown around the fully
automated, brand new cold store of leading Dutch meat importer
Zandbergen.
